Climbing and Walking

La Selva is the ideal base from which to discover the wonderful trails of the Amalfi Coast and to reach the many areas of sport climbing in and around Positano

Adventure in nature

Positano is the ideal place for those seeking adventure, nature and a deep connection with the beauty of the area.
Here, scenic trails intertwine with the breathtaking landscape, providing unforgettable experiences for hikers and climbers.

Sport climbing

A climber coming to the coast will immediately notice the incredible amount of limestone in these parts. There is still a lot of potential here, but the equipped crags are almost all first-class. The hub of climbing on the coast is Positano; most of the equipped crags are located around this idyllic town. Mt. Gambera with its large hole in the middle is definitely among the most interesting rock formations in the area. But the pearls of Positano in terms of climbing reeds and concretions are Cannabis, o’Piscione and the Paretone. The first two look almost like twin sisters, and the climbing is athletic. The Paretone, on the other hand, is an immense wall strewn with concretions, a real gem. Just before that you will find the Tacchetteria sector and the Scalodromo.
For those who prefer technical slab climbing there is the Selva crag and a few minutes’ walk away is the Mirabella crag, among overhangs and technical slabs. On the other hand, for those willing to drive from Positano and visit the coast we recommend Capo d’Orso, Punta d’Aglio. On the opposite side is Punta Campanella a magical place! Overlooking the sea and facing the island of Capri conveys a certain respect for what Mother Nature has given us. Great place also the deep water.
The nailing work was carried out thanks to a group of willing people connected with La Selva including the legendary Adriano Trombetta, Cristiano Bacci, Tonino Rispoli, Gunter Gottardo but also Stefano Perrone, Roberto Vigiani, Alberto Gnerro to whom our thanks go. All reports can be downloaded for free from Falesia.it or the Crag. For those who want the best paper guide is Malopasso by Oreste Bottiglieri ed. South slope.

Nature walks

The Amalfi Coast is a true paradise for lovers of trekking and nature walks, offering a vast network of trails that wind through breathtaking views, picturesque villages and rich Mediterranean vegetation. There is something for all tastes and levels of fitness, from easy walks to more challenging trails.
Here are some of the most famous and evocative trails:
Sentiero degli Dei: Considered one of the most beautiful trails in the world, it connects Agerola to Nocelle (a hamlet of Positano), offering spectacular views of the coast and the island of Capri.
Valle delle Ferriere: A hike to discover a nature reserve full of waterfalls, giant ferns and ancient water mills. Leaving from Amalfi or Pontone, you immerse yourself in a cool and evocative environment, far from the hustle and bustle of the coast.
Alta via dei monti lattari a challenging and little-used route, requiring several stages and a good level of physical preparation.
Montepertuso refuge of the forestry Santa Maria del Castello a moderately inpegnative route with a mandatory stop at the Zi Peppe restaurant.

In addition to these, there are many other lesser known but equally fascinating trails, we will be happy to suggest the most interesting ones according to your needs.
